Increasing shaft weight

Does anyone have advice on increasing the effective weight of a graphite shaft? I have 2 diamana white board shafts which is around $600 worth of shafts that I'm not using because I've grown to like heaver shafts than the 75 and 65 gram shafts that I have. The 65 was in a bore throught 905s. If it is possible to increase the weight, I'd like to make the 75 gram shaft into an 85 and put it in a 3 wood and the same with the 65 to a 75 gram to put into a d2 driver. Tungsten powder? backweighting?

Great shafts, I'd like to make use of them.

Changing the static weight of the club through back-weighting can be extremely effective.

Put them up for sale and buy some 73g models.

You'll be better off than trying to add weight to the tip/butt sections.

Thanks very much thewitt for the help and for understanding what I was trying to explain. I'll try it on the d2 since I'd have to shorten the other one (no going back there) to put into the 3 wood (came out of an old driver) and the one in the d2 can just come right back out if I don't like it. I'll post the results.

you could also try adding some lead tape wrapped around the shaft...place it right below the grip...try adding 3 grams at a time and see on how much you need...

Thewitt, thanks again for the information. I had a 20 gram weight added and WOW! Now I see why Veejay likes more of the weight on his shafts to be closer to the butt end. I've added a bit of backweight to every driver. It gives me better control of the clubhead.

I recently did this with my 3 wood. I wasn't happy with the light weight, but like the characteristics of the shaft, (not to mention the pain to re-shaft an X-Hot), so I added 6 grams of weight to the back of the clubhead and 6 grams under the grip.

I rolled the grip back about an inch and wrapped the lead tape around the shaft there, then rolled the grip back down over it.

It has truly helped the feel.
