I'm visiting my brother out in Atlanta, i'm from San Francisco and have never been out there. Any people out there know any cool public golf courses or perhaps wanna play when I'm down there. I'm there from july 5-18. I play golf over at San Jose State University if anyone wants to get a good game going I'm in!

Excited to hear from the WRX family out in Atlanta!

If you're staying in Marietta then you should play Cobblestone and Bridgemill, both fairly close to Marietta. Also, try Wolf Creek, The Frog, and River Pines. Echelon is a good drive from Marietta, but a worthy amount of time spent if you're looking for a strong challenge.

TaylorMade M3 w/HZRDUS Yellow stiff
TaylorMade M4 Tour 3 wood w/HZRDUS Red stiff
TaylorMade M3 2 hybrid (set to 19*) w/HZRDUS Black stiff
Srixon U65 4i Miyazaki Stiff
Srixon 765 5-PW Modus 120 Stiff
Cleveland RTX 3.0 50*, 54*, and 58* KBS 61
TaylorMade Spider Black

Gameball: Vice Pro Plus, Srixon Q Star Tour

If you play golf at SJSU then you'd be better off just calling around to some of the private clubs in the area to see if they would let you play. The public golf scene is lacking in Atlanta unfortunately compared to many cities in the country. Near Marietta, you could probably try calling out to Pinetree, Marietta CC, Cartersville (lots of Tour guys are up there to see Scott Hamilton and with no Greenbrier I'm sure they will be up there), or check out other private clubs. Worth a shot at least before going straight to the public courses - which those listed here are probably your best bets.

It's worth a try. If the country/private clubs are anything like the ones on the coast they won't be complacent with allowing a college player use there facilities. I hope it's different out there.

Thank you !

Call Rivermont CC and ask for Chris. He's the club's owner/operator and VERY approachable. He might be able to hook you up with one of the younger members and let you play there. The clubhouse isn't the fanciest, but the course itself is fantastic!!! Very fun and always in top shape!

Building on this, I suppose there's no way for a layperson to get on at AAC is there? My wife and I are headed that way at the end of the month for a wedding she is in and the church is literally across the street.

Very doubtful. Highlands is shut down until October so they are down to one course at the moment and although members can go play elsewhere with reciprocity Riverside is probably pretty packed.

Played Rivermont a couple weeks ago. It was in the best shape I had seen it in. Great call on that one. The Bermuda greens are so much better than the bent were at this time of year.

Check out the Forum I started called Atlanta area courses and conditions, It gives pretty detailed reviews of most of the better public courses and some of the private ones including Rivermont. PM me when you know when you want to play, I'm a student at tech... could potentially tee it up with ya.

We are roughly halfway through the renovation of Highlands, and its looking pretty good. Tee times at Riverside have been more difficult, but still really not all that bad. With family vacations and what have you, getting to play Riverside hasn't been as difficult as I though it was going to be at first. Note that we are aerifying Riverside next week and the course will be closed for the week, with likely around 2 weeks-3 weeks to recover.
