I don't see InBee Park.. I guess she's still recovering..

I thought I heard them say more than once that she wasn't 100%, and that she had made some changes to help deal with the injury. I don't see it as a surprise that she'll sit out a while longer.

She said her next possible event is the Evian. I guess she wants to shut those who insist that it only counts as a major when is "designated as a major" up.

Won't be the best weather this weekend, but hopefully it holds out for the tournament. I'll probably head down there on the day(s) I'm not golfing this weekend.

Did a 78 and 79 really qualify for this event?

Conditions were really lousy. Cold and windy, almost British Open-like.

That explains it. Thanks. I had no idea.

I was kinda on the fence with her, but I really hope Gerina wins an event this year. It is getting brutal seeing her get so close and then falling apart in the final round/9 holes. I know this has been discussed but I'd really like to see her win this week.

Apparently the temps are in the low 40's in the early morning.

I am hugely disappointed for the second year in a row I won't be writing the fan diary for the tour while attending the CPWO.

If you can't walk, you can't do the course. Especially Priddis. The most elevation change for a CPWO since the last time it was here in 09. Not a spectator friendly track, very minimal paths on many hilly holes on the back nine.

Yes, the mornings are crisp hahaha.

To say this event is in Calgary is a white lie. Priddis Greens is halfway to Banff from Calgary. You park at Spruce Meadows in the south of town and ride the bus for 30 to 40 minutes to get to the course. If I had to pick one of the usual courses to miss for the CPWO, Priddis would be it.

Still....dammit....I ain't there

Its like 15 minutes from spruce to priddis, now obviously it might be a hair longer on the bus but save your hyperbole for elsewhere. And if your driving through priddis to get to banff from Calgary your going the complete wrong way...

have they changed the off highway roads used since 2009? are they all paved now? the shuttle buses that I rode in 2009, from Monday to Sunday, never went either direction in less than 30 minutes

I have no idea what road wouldn't of been paved, you should just fly out the 22x. I mean if they aren't doing that then they are being moronic and your complaints are warranted.

Well I think you are are both right. It's about 15 minutes by car travelling at normal hwy speeds but I would assume that by the time a bus rumbles out of the parking lot in Spruce Meadows and unloads at Priddis it is 30 minutes.

Fair, I'm still confused as to how Priddis is half way from Calgary to Banff

FWIW they are also playing a different rotation this year.

LPGA.com is claiming that this tournament has officially been completed. That seems unusual for an LPGA event to finish by Friday morning. Oh well, what do I know. I'll read about it later in the newspaper maybe.

Lol. Looks like the first round has finished. Maybe they looked at the forecast, threw up their hands, and said, "Hey, anybody want to go to Rio?". I'm guessing they didn't expect 40 degree temperatures in August.

Nice opening round by Chella. Mirim is lurking again, and I bet she wants to make up for her stumble a few weeks ago.

My money is still on Lydia, though.

LPGA.com has repeatedly made me feel like a buffoon for even caring about women's golf. Why should I care, when the people who get paid and whose job it is to cover the events don't even care?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the website was maintained by a few unpaid interns.
