Chattanooga & Atlanta Golf

For those who have played them, what do you think of the following courses: Chattanooga G&CC, Black Creek, Sweetens Cove, Lookout Mountain, and Canyon Ridge?

If you were going to play two of them, which two would you pick?

I played Canyon Ridge, Sweetens Cove, and Bear Trace at Harrison Bay over the labor day weekend. I cannot speak to the others, but Canyon Ridge and Sweetens Cove were pretty awesome. The greens at both were great. I would imagine Canyon Ridge is going to aerate soon. There greens were very firm and fast. Sweetens cove was a special place as well. I would imagine it would be fun to around twice. We played Canyon Ridge and the nine at Sweetens Cove in the same day. Canyon Ridge has great views, a few goofy holes, but overall very enjoyable.

The views at Canyon Ridge are some of the best I have seen on a mountain course, but its got some really quirky holes.

assuming you can get on the privates, I'd go Chat CGCC and lookout. next would be black creek, and the harrison bay.

whatever you do, you need to play at least 9 at sweetens cove, unreal.

Agree 100% here. You need to do sweetens, but CGCC and Lookout are on a completely different level from Canyon Ridge. I'd choose Lookout first then CGCC but can't go wrong with either. Black creek is better than Canyon Ridge too.

Played Sweetens Cove for the first time last week. Most fun I have had on a golf course in years. I only travel through the area about twice/year, but it will be a stop on every drive from now on.

I generally favor old, classic designs, but somehow the architect here has combined nearly unlimited shotmaking options, perfect condition and green speed for the extreme green complexes, and a very playable setup into just a fantastic play. Great work
