Lydia Ko dumps Leadbetter's A-swing

Unsurprisingly Lydia Ko's first outing for the year at the Australian Open reveals that she has dumped the A-swing. The characteristic loop has gone from her game. Frankly it was astonishingly poor judgment on Leadbetter's part to take the world No. 1 player and say "Hey, I've got this new theory about something I've called the A-swing. Let's put a big loop in your swing and see how it goes!".

It was likely her discomfort with that swing that led to her rebelling against being used as Leadbetter's test project and high-profile marketing platform for the A-swing. The fact that she was able to hang onto the no. 1 ranking while he mucked around with her swing was a miracle. It remains to be seen how long it will take her to comfortably get back to a reliable swing without the loop.
