The conditioning is hit or miss at Lakota imo. It's a fun course with beautiful views - same architect as Redlands.

My home course is Ironbridge in Glenwood springs. It's awesome- challenging. And has some amazing alpine holes and views as well. Let me know if you you're interested in checking it out and having someone to join you.

Eagle ranch in eagle is a great Palmer course.

I haven't played much in the vail or frisco/Breckinridge areas.

i say red sky or ironbridge in my opinion. I really like iron bridge. My folks live in grand junction and i love Redlands mesa , got a hole in one on 14 there.

Have you played Devil's thumb in Delta???

Do you mean Battlement Mesa at Parachute? Nice course, reasonable green fees. Love Redlands Mesa (top 10 course for us), Devil's Thumb and Lakota. Not too crazy about Breckenridge or the Raven as I don't like target golf to blind targets.

Where are you coming from?

Yes! We will coming from Utah. Already plan on playing Redlands Mesa and Devil's Thumb before driving to Denver.

Awesome. Too bad you couldn't fit in Four Winds. But I would choose Wild Horse too. Where is Willow Lakes? Omaha maybe?

I may play 4 winds instead of Cheyenne CC. Wilow Lakes was a Air Force base course a bit South of Omaha.

Go north after Wild Horse, catch Prairie Club, Dismal River and Sandhills. Looks like a great trip!

That is next time, WIThOuT the wifey!

Kind of similar courses. A bit of rolling terrain, lots of trees. CCC obviously is a little better condition wise.

Both fun courses. I think CCC plays a quite a bit easier when it's a person's first round there. It plays pretty much how it looks, Four Winds has a little more "deception". A couple of greens roll completely opposite of how it looks like they should.

But you won't go wrong with either choice.

I am actually pretty excited about this road trip, my wife is pretty cool for going along, she'll play most of the courses too.

course is better this year after down season. We got a new base commander and he and his wife play alot so conditions and clean up have been much better. The design is a good one , RTJ Sr. design. Rough will be thick in july so keep it in the short grass. few risk reward holes and some water around course. keep it below the pin in most cases especially 1 and 18.

Bend, we played Four Winds yesterday and I'm sorry to say, but it's not in very good condition. It's really dried and baked out, which is surprising with the amount of wet snow we've had. And an abundance of dandelions that have gone to seed make finding a white ball difficult in a lot of places. Grass is pretty sparse in a lot of fairways and around greens in several spots.

That being said, I still love the layout. The greens are decent but not great. They were slower than normal but rolled ok.

It's still a good play, a lot of several really good holes, just right now not very pleasing to the eye aesthetically.

That's not good. We haven't played there in several years, hoping to do Wild Horse in 10 days.

Yeah, I was disappointed. But not terribly so since conditions are pretty far down my importance list (unless they're really, really bad). I would hate for someone to miss the course due to conditions, because I still think its a terrific layout, but since I'm usually promoting it here I thought it was only fair to put that out there too.
