Wentworth by the Sea and Windham CC reviews

Last week, my company rented the WBTS resort and the course. I had a chance to play it twice Tues & thurs, I was very excited to play there because of all the reviews I have read about the place and my dad had played there 8-9 times for charity events.

Was it a nice course? YES! Was it a course that was OMFG that was insanely good? NO!!!!!!!!!!! The holes along the ocean are real cool and the wind plays serious havoc on your ball. #16 is a fun hole. On day one we played the tips, I had a nice drive leaving me 200 in. I made par there. Day 2 was the best ball event and we played the whites. I had 151 in on that one. I yanked the 9i left. As a team we made birdie.

I am really into photography and I was able to take some great pics of the course. You can click my Instagram link below for them.

Windham CC.

This is a course I never wanted to play, I was always told it was a very average course owned by the Flynn Family so I never wanted to play it. My buddy asked me to try it so I agreed. I am kicking myself for passing it up the last 20 years! That is a FUN and VERY challenging course!! The greens were perfect, the course was wet from all the rain on Fri & Sat. We played the white tees at only 6100yds but played like 6800 in the difficulty! I lost 7-8 balls because I didn't know where the water was and where not to hit it.

For those who haven't played it, is it a MUST PLAY course? Not really but for the money are they offering you a FUN course to play? Absolutely! I will make it back at some point this year! The course is pretty hilly on the front side so walking could be a challenge for some. The back side had 1-2 holes that might make you unhappy but overall pretty walkable.

I was able to play Wentworth for the first time last weekend. I had an absolute blast and loved the change it provided from my home course. It was a bit quirky but I felt like it had a lot of character which made it that much more enjoyable.

On the other hand, I abhor Windham. It's certainly difficult, especially when tipped out, but for whatever reason I never enjoy playing there. A lot of that is due to the 5+ hours rounds.

We played Wyndham at 9:20am last Sunday and we played in 4 hrs flat. I was shocked and very happy!

I just played Windham CC yesterday, the course wasn't in that bad of shape but the Tee boxes need serious work as far as being level and having decent grass, and whoever puts the tee markers on the box most likely doesn't golf seeing as they leave you just enough room to tee up and make a swing without hitting the block. The greens were quite slow and bumpy and nobody fixes pitch marks. and for a course that was packed and possibly the slowest round I've played all year thats a lot of pitch marks. For $60 i won't be back. on that note does anyone have any other course recommendations in that area?

Many like Campbells Scottish Highlands in Salem, NH. It isn't one of my favorites and their hardcore patrolling for the odd soda in the bag is rather annoying.

read good reviews about campbell too, although a good bit of them said it was very short and a good course for beginners which was the only reason i stayed away. Im definitely not above giving it a try though so thanks.
