Help me make a belly putter

Odyssey White Hot XG 2 ball CS
I need some help. I would like to turn an Odyssey White Hot XG 2 ball CS into a belly putter. I am unsure what shaft I need....I am assuming it is .370 tip, I was looking at this one Link but do not know if the tip will work. If anyone has had any success building a belly putter, specifically with an Odyssey XG 2 ball, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!!!

One thing I do know is that you will need a heavier weighted head, or a way to add weight to the head of the putter to give it more feel. I wanted to make one too, but my clubmaker said that what I had would not work very well because they were too light.

That is good advice, I never though of that.....I also have a white steel two ball CS that weighs a ton, I will turn that one into a belly putter, still looking for anyone that knows what shaft will work.

Did you try Golfsmith? I'm sure there is a belly shaft available...

Some putters can be a lot more difficult too reshaft than normal clubs, from what I have been told. I have not messed with club repair in about 20 years.

My biggest concern would be finding the right length .

I have a belly butter but no way does it fit in my belly button.

I wish we could hear from someone having success with a belly.

I wonder what the length of the putter should be in relationship to the belly button to the floor.

I heard people complaining in another thread about anchoring the putter to the belly button being like cheating.

I thought that was crazy after all we are always looking for connection in the golf swing why not in the putting stroke.

I honestly think its the perfect way to putt if I could find a putter that fits.

The best way I found to make a belly putter was, take an old shaft and cut in two. Then just insert the butt end into the butt of the current shaft (this cut down on a full reshaft). Then I set up and measure where the shaft is making contact with my body and mark it there. When I cut down the new belly shaft I make sure I cut it about 1/4 inch shorter than the mark, room for the grip end cap so it always turns out the right length. I started doing this about five years ago and haven't had a problem you can epoxy the shafts together and I always use the one piece putter grip so you can't see the joints. I recently made a 2bar CS belly. If you don't have any old shafts you can always use the steel shaft extenders from GG. I'm 5'11 and usually I just add about 9 inches onto a 35 inch putter. If you have more questions just PM.

My project: to convert a scotty newport 1.5 into a belly...might do a test run on another putter first... but while doing this process, how much weight is needed to be added to the head of the putter? would you recommend graphite/lead powder to do so or just plain old lead tape? and would you say the head on the scotty i have is just too light to even become a belly??

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
