I play sometimes with a guy who had an ace on 336 par 4 up hill, couldn't believe he done it. me on the other would be happy with a 280 yrd'er but nearly all the time it's about 260ish

I think SOME of the shorter hitters don't like to think there are as many people out there in the world who can outdrive them..... There are.

 

I'm 5'10", 150 lbs. dripping wet. my home course is at 67 feet above sea level. average annual temp is 42*F. average july temp range-57-79*F. average daily humidity 70%. courses in maine including my home are very moist and 40% of the time there is NO roll, not unusual for the ball to jump backwards after landing.

 

7 iron carry:168

My average driver carry:265yds

average well struck drive carry:280

Longest driver carry:330 (the ball was plugged when I got to it.)

have hit 3 drives that rolled out to 370 (with at least 45 yds roll)

last year I drove 6 different par 4's all over 300 yds.

 

I have a foursome that I play weekley tournaments with. two of the guys I play with out drive me by 5-10 yds consistently. one of them weighs as little as I do and is an inch shorter.

 

There are at least 15 guys at my home club(250 members average age =55 ish) who can carry the ball as far as I do.

 

I can tell you we do not shoot 59 everytime. not even close.

 

I'm not trying to boast.....I'm trying to make a point.....this is in Maine.....MAINE! I have to believe that there are thousands of people across the country, tens of thousands throughout the world who can outdrive me. EASILY.

 

as far as peoples internet claims. I believe 90% of them 50% of the time. JK.... I wouldn't be shocked to find that MOST of them are telling the truth.

I'm from sweden and play in sweden. I carry my drives 270+ yards. I was out playing yesterday and the temperature here was about 50 Fahrenheit and I hit the green with my drive on a hole that is 312 yards. And the ground is very wet on my course at the time. So i'd guess i only had about 10 yards of roll. I was probably helped somewhat by the wind but it was not that much wind.

Swing speed... Im not to sure, i used to have around 115mph on the monitor. My driving was very erratic with 75% of drives a fade leaving me in the rough or OB.

 

Took a few months off the driver as i have a secret.. My G5 3 Wood. Its pretty straight for 90% of the time and it carrys 230~240 (I take it carry is how long its in the air and hits the ground ie 240 carry + 10 yard role = 250 yard drive?)

 

I used to have a swing speed of 100mph with the irons too. Had some good lessons and my pro did a great job of getting me out of the "smash at the ball" and got me swinging nice and smooth through the ball.

 

I got a rough idea of my swing speed being around 105-110mph now, using a Taylor Made R7 Superquad 9.5° stiff shaft and with the weights left as they come from the shop.

 

At the range last thursday i had no trouble landing just over the 250 marker using the crap range balls, i say on the course using my balls (Taylormade TP Black) im carrying 260~265 on a solid contact drive. I still hit the odd drive off centre.

 

Trouble with Wales its normally cold and soggy, so you dont get much role. I played up Wenvoe yesterday and i was getting a nice 10 yard roll although i was only driving 240~250 that day after having a bad session at the range, i wanted to keep things straight (Playing at Wenvoe for the first time, its also semi tight course)

 

I've had quite a few drives over 300 with my hand on my heart. Home course can be a bit windy which has its benefits when driving with the wind! (2 weeks ago gusts of 80mph, wind was flexing the shaft of my driver) Then again on a par 3 160 instead of a 8/9i had to use a 4i!

 

Driver average carry 255~260

3 Wood 230~240

 

Can get another 10 yards but most of the time i end up with a fade and lose balance.
