San Francisco Question

So I am going to be in San Francisco this next week and was hoping to get in a round of golf. I fly out Friday night at 10:30pm on the red eye and was hoping to get a round in between the time when my conference ends (roughly 1:00pm) and dark. The conference is at the Hyatt Regency near the financial district.

Thoughts on where I could get in a good round of golf?

Presidio would probably be the easiest to get to for you that time of day - not saying much as you're still looking at near half an hour to go just over 4 miles across town - but it's a fantastic course and stays in pretty good condition year-round. Not sure what their schedule is for punching greens though. May be worth a call and checking when you look at tee times just because others in the bay area are starting to as well.

I would play Harding Park, close to airport also. If you are a member at a club you could do reciprocal at Cal Club, it is close to airport as well.

As mentioned above.... traffic is heavy most days in the City. Friday traffic is a nightmare. Plan on a 5-5.5 hour round.

+1 on Presidio and Harding. I used to work in the FiDi near the Hyatt so expect 30-40 min to get to Presidio and longer to get to Harding. Presidio is a min 5 hr round and Harding while more expensive is probably a 4.5 hr round. Both are solid courses.

This might sound a bit bonkers, but it would mean not dealing with city traffic.

Take BART over to the East Bay, get off at San Leandro station, jump in a cab/Lyft and go play Monarch Bay Golf Course.

You'll get Bay views and really solid golf.

You could also get off at Coliseum and cab/Lyft it to Metropolitan by Oakland airport. You don't get the views, but it's another solid track.

With both of them, you could walk out of the Hyatt at 1pm and be teeing off at 2pm. They'd be less busy than Presidio or Harding too.

I am travelling to SF this weekend and will have about 4-5 hours to spend in the city before heading south. Any suggestions on where to go, things to do during a quick visit?

I would go to farmers market near the ferry building. Good people watching and great food. should be a nice day. 4-5 hours is not enough to drive around and see anything you will be stuck in car all the time. Golden Gate park is another option.

We ended up not going into San Fran. Instead left the airport and headed south on Hwy 1. Drove the coast down to Monterrey and got to enjoy a round at Pebble and Spyglass! It was an amazing time. Thank you for your suggestion, time just didn't work out the way we planned. Our flight got into SF at 8:30 and it was almost 11 by the time we got the rental car!
