DSG - Ping Demo Clearance

Last weekend I bought a Cobra F7 driver at Dicks Sporting Goods for $125 after tax. It was a good deal but as the week went on I wasn't so sure about keeping it. I went by PGA Superstore yesterday and rented a practice bay to test my 816 DBD and F6+ against a F7. The F7 wasn't bad, but it didn't wow me either. I got the best results with a slightly open face and the weight in the draw setting.

 

I went by Dicks today to return the F7 and noticed a table of clearance items in the golf department. There were also a few bags with assorted clubs. To my surprise, one bag had several Ping G and G30 clubs. I found a G driver, 3 wood and 19 hybrid with stiff shafts. The driver and hybrid were mint and the 3 wood still had its plastic wrap.

 

I also found an Odyssey 2 ball fang with the plastic wrap still on.

 

The driver rang up for $99.99, the 3 wood was $63.99, the hybrid was $51.99 and the putter was $62.98.

 

Best of all when I returned the F7, I was given a 15% off your entire purchase that was good for a short amount of time.

 

Adding a Ping driver headcover that looked good and a Super Stroke Flatso with weight, my total came out to $253.75 before tax.

 

Filling out the top of my bag with Ping G clubs for $185 has to be one of my best deals in years.
