my first eagle!

after a quad-bogey, yupper, a quad, i stepped up to the par 5 number 3 at my course (well, not _my_ course, i don't own it, i just happen to play there a lot). and ripped a 3-wood down the middle. i ended up about 210 out, just perfect for my 23* hybrid club. i hit a low draw, it skipped up the front of the green and rolled left of the pin for a tricky left to righter 4 footer. obviously i drained the 4 footer, but i was nervous as hell, and i didn't want to hear the "you a**!" from my playing partner that i have been playing with for 7 years.

i celebrated as best i could, but my other golf buddy just skulled a sand shot 50 yards past the green; had to hit back on the downward sloping green; the ball went back into the same bunker; he mis-hit the sand shot, had to swing again; the ball landed on the lip, he duffed a chip...

so with him yelling every obscenity imaginable, it was hard to get those hands up in the air in celebration, but i did anyway.

just thought i would share.

To add insult to injury to your buddy, you did it with a NOODLE.

hey! don't rip on the noodle, i love those things. to add more insult to injury, my hole-in-one was with a noodle as well.

let me know of some other ball options that are soft like that, cheap, and not a titleist.

I'm jealous. I have a cousin who has a 25 index and he has holed out 2 eagles. One eagle about 60 yrs away with a wedge and the other he chipped off the green.

 

As for me, I've had about 4-5 chances for eagles using my putter, but no luck yet.

Congrats on your first ealge...I got my one and only last year and for some reason I didn't keep the ball and I lost it.

Outstanding! hopefully the first of many. I have had two in my lifetime holed out a 9 iron on a 4 par and th emore traditional drover / 2 iron / one putt 5 par. The worst part (if there is one for eagles) is both times I was a single just our for 9 holes so I had no one to share in the fun.

i have 2 eagles to this point, the first one i had no idea it was even a par 5... i thought i had a birdie and then realized it was an eagle... :lol:

My only one came on a par 4. Holed a SW from 70yds. I was jumping around like a nut. I've had quite a few putts for eagle but can never drop the ba$tard. One of these days I'll get one on a par 5... It'll probably have to be a kick in though. lol.

you and me both... i've had at least a dozen eagle putts that have turned into pars... :lol:

 

the hole i got my hole in one on, i've driven that green at least 4 times now... and a shorter par 5 (485 yards), i've been there in 2 at least 5 times, and only 1 eagle to show for it... ;)

technically it is an eagle, but who in the world gets a hole in one and calls it an eagle...? :lol:

exactly. you could call a four cylinder a V4, but you don't--it's a four cylinder.

 

my eagle on a par 3 is a hole-in-one. my 3 on a par 5 is an eagle.

 

it makes sense to me. :lol:
