Anyone impressed by the latest and greatest from the best watchmakers out there?

 

The new Laurent Ferrier minute repeater is stunning.

 

Rolex with the latest GMT Master has another winner as do Tudor with their latest.

I've had my eye on Tudor for a while now. They keep coming out with nice looking watches. I don't have one today but I hope in the future I will.

Feel a little bit underwhelmed by this years offerings. My bank balance enjoys fallow years, but I do not. The Rolex models look a bit messy. The Daytona makes me feel ill.

I’m tempted to put down a deposit on the Tudor BB GMT. I have a gut feeling that they will hard to get once they get to ADs without reserving one.

Agree with you, I don’t know what Rolex was thinking. Hublot also coming out with some weird looking ones this year. There was a particular watch from Breguet that I enjoyed very much, too bad it’s out of my budget.

Agree with you, I don’t know what Rolex was thinking. Hublot also coming out with some weird looking ones this year. There was a particular watch from Breguet that I enjoyed very much, too bad it’s out of my budget.

 

Most of what Breguet does is too dressy for my personality but I’ve always admired them especially in person. If I was in need of a more dressy high end watch they would be a contender, among others.

Year now. There’s a handful in front of me but at least I’m on the list. They pretty much closed the list out and grey market has the white dial going for 20k plus on a 12k watch.

 

And they’re getting about one per couple months. Hopefully I get mine sooner since the new Pepsi just dropped and everyone and their mom wants one. Just a couple years ago I could get any moderns 25-30% below msrp. Now the squeeze is on. Might as well hunt down a vintage. Better value long term.

modern tudor or vintage tudor? The vintage tudor sub no date is hanging about 8-10k; 2 years ago, you can find them for less than 3-4k

 

If I have one thing to blame millenials it's the driving cost of vintage; what was once for the love of the game has become a statement appeal and we are all feeling the squeeze; I was lucky to get a couple vintage pieces before the skyrocket price but I also let go of a couple pieces which to this day drives me nuts;

 

and not just watches; but cars as well; my oldest brother had about 5-6 porsches he built with original parts; 10 years ago they were so cheap; well his wife forced him to sell it about 5 years ago. He made money but if he were to sell it today, he would have fast track his retirement plan.

the tudor pepsi imho is the better of the new release compared to the rolex pepsi (super bias here since I have a full set vintage pepsi)
