Range game to course game

Anybody have a video of the range swing and the course swing and compared them? If so what did you find out?

 

I'm taking a lesson Tuesday and I'm thinking of getting the two compared. I would like to see what fails me when it counts the most. I have recently changed my grip and my range game has never been better but my course game wasn't been worse. I know I don't trust it yet but if anything I would like to find what goes wrong when I don't trust my swing.

 

Any thoughts?

George I am not sure you would see that much actual difference in the swing but your idea has very interesting merit. I hope you will post about the results.

 

A tip for you it takes 28 days to develop a habit it takes longer than that to get rid of one.

 

Assuming that your grip is right now, I would just say give it some time.

 

As far as getting your game from the range to the golf course I will make a suggestion with a question.

 

Do you use a preshot routine on the course ?

 

If so you need to use the same routine everytime you hit a ball on the range.

 

Another tip that works for people is to play the course on the range.

 

Example if the first hole at your course is a driver and a seven iron. Hit a driver and then a seven iron Go thru the holes like that picturing it as if you were hitting the shot just like on the course.

My preshot routine is trash on the course. For the last 2 years I have had the the sergio thing not really regripping just too many waggles (9) and thoughts going on the course not the range. I know I definitely need to work on that. I didn't use to be that way but the better I get (5 handi) the worse the problem becomes. I am a perfecionist and I know if I set-up correctly and do the things I need to do I will hit it directly on target. It isn't very logical but it is what it is.

 

I am hoping to find a tempo problem with this video lesson that I can practice. I have a friend that is longer and has a better swing that has the exact same problem. If the range counted he would be a tour player but on the course he is 10 handi and you can't tell the difference in swings. Also everytime I go to get a lesson my misses are not the same as on the course. It may be a waste of $70 but I have to try something.
