Forum Problem

Not Good!

Just a few minutes ago I went to my favorites and clicked GolfWRX. The site came up and I immediately noticed the top left corner where it said WELCOME, VHFAN (3)INBOX

Only problem is.....I am not VHFAN. I am threejack.

Are there some security issues here? How can I simply click on the site and be mistaken for someone else?

Can someone else accidentally be logged in as me?

Are you referring to the homepage or the forums? You are posting from the right account in the forums. Can you post a screen shot?

I am logged in as threejack now of course. I had just completed deleting my temp files and cookies from my computer. I always stay logged in here and all the other forums, but since I had deleted cookies I knew that I had to re-enter my password when logging on here. When I clicked on the golfwrx link the page came up and the site recognized me as VHFAN????????

 

At the homepage in the top left it read in red lettering: WELCOME VHFAN INBOX (3)

 

VHFAN is another member here and I am assuming I could have easily clicked on his inbox or posted under his id.

 

I hadn't typed a username, password or anything. The site for some reason thought I was him. Doesn't make me feel all that secure here to be honest.

This is the first I've heard of an issue like this. Rights and permissions are secure as you are logged in and posting as you. If you would have clicked on the Inbox, it would have taken you to your inbox and not his. The representation on the front page, is probably an ID error display that we will need to check out.

I wasn't even logged in. I had cleared out my computer and was going to log back in here. The homepage just popped up and all of a sudden I was VHFAN.

 

Kinda odd, but it happened.

 

I did click on the golfwrx.com logo to see of it would take me to the forums as VHFAN. It would not let me and I was then prompted for a username and password.

 

I then typed in my info and proceeded as normal.

 

Just a glich I guess.

FYI...

 

Today the same thing happened again except this time I was "chodne1". I assume he is another member here. Not sure if people aren't noticing this or I am the only one this is happening to?

 

Just to see what would happen, I clicked on his inbox and it directed me to log in with my username and password. It wouldn't let me in to his mailbox (thank goodness), but I clicked out of this site 3 times and each time I came back it still recognized me as chodne1?

 

After I put in my username and password everything seems ok again?
