Nashville Area Membership

Relatively new to Nashville and starting to look at joining somewhere. Does anyone have any suggestions or insight on under 30 membership around town? Being new to the area would like to hear some input on the various clubs.

Do any of the clubs have more younger crows vs older, and how do the below compare to one another

Hillwood

Richland

Old Natchez

Legends

Nashville Golf & Athletic

Any suggestions on other places to look?

Nashville Golf is the toughest of those courses. Old Natchez is where I play the most but I’m not a member. My godfather is so he asks me to play. Legends and Richlands crowds seem about the same to me. Most members in late 40’s to mid 50’s I’d say. Actually none of these have a large crowd in the under 40 range, IMO. I know very little about Hillwood as I live in Arrington. Most of my golf is on the south side.

I'm new to Nashville as well and have played several of these and been to all of them. Have several friends at Hillwood and there seem to be quite a few guys under 40. Same at Richland. Old Natchez and Nashville Golf have substantially lower initiation fees so they seem to have more younger guys. Legends is in between in price but has a lot of really good golfers, most of which are younger. This is a great list for Nashville.

Maybe I’m a dreamer but i swear Richland does not have many under 40 members. People that play? Maybe. But because there were invited and the such. No clue how accurate this is but I jus googled it. One of the swing teachers at golf tec in cool springs left to be a pro there and said hardly any young members. This may explain why.

When I've been out to Richland, I've felt like there are a lot of guys under 40 on the course and in the men's grille. I'm not saying half the membership is under 40 or anything like that, but definitely enough that I think you'd be able to find plenty of games with guys around your age.

Do you have any information on the Grove or GC Tenn? Not sure I've met anyone that's a member at either, are both the type you'd be able to get in at or no?

golf club of TN, highly unlikely. Easily the most exclusive club in middle Tennessee. The Grove you used to have a lot to be a member. Not sure if they changed that or not.

golf club of TN, highly unlikely. Easily the most exclusive club in middle Tennessee. The Grove you used to have a lot to be a member. Not sure if they changed that or not.

Good to know, I assumed Belle Meade would have taken that title. Not that it matters as both sound like top end exclusive clubs.

Belle Meade is the most elite/exclusive club in town. You have to get an invitation to join and have 50 signatures and 5 members vouch for you, or something close to this. I think anyone can get into Golf Club, if you have the cash. I caddied at both for 3 years each, between jobs. They are both amazing tracks! Pure bent grass at both. When i hit the lotto, I'll join both.

Legends has a pretty good mix of members ages. I think there are about 700 members but the club has 36 holes so it's not difficult to get a tee time.

Belle Meade, Hillwood, GCTN, and Richland are in a different price range from the others, but all the names you have are fine clubs with good memberships. I would suggest trying to meet as many members as possible at the clubs because they have very different feels. Of the names on your list, I would start with Hillwood and Richland, especially if you have a family.
