We always enjoy our rounds there. Shotmaking desert course but pretty dang good Nicklaus design closest good conditions to the City

This is pretty spot on. Lots of run out from firm fairways so be careful since adjacent to fairways is ESA

Yea I wish I had known this before. My buddy and I left after 9. We went down to take a look at Trump National after we left Los Verdes and we should have played there.

No win situation....Los Verdes is the ultimate tease. Great views, ok conditions and cheap but the rounds are just undoable. I don't know how anyone could be on a golf course for 6+ hrs. With Trump, you pay an exorbitant greens fee for a mediocre course with good/great conditions but it's penal and ultimately not that fun. Incredible views for sure but save yourself $250 and take a walk around the public park that surrounds the course.

Ok, so I'll be in LA Dec 11-16, wife will be in a conference everyday from 8-5. I'll be staying at the Millennium Biltmore (downtown?), no car. Are there any courses close by that I can take a Lyft or Uber? Weather wise, what to expect?

Maybe locals can chime in but most of the better/worhtwhile golf is far from downtown. Gonna be expensive doing Lyft/Uber.

I just came back from Anaheim area and I'd highly recommend Black Gold, Coyote Hills, Los Serranos CC (South) and Costa Mesa CC (Los Lagos) courses for cheap Golfnow times ~$45.

I always enjoy my rounds at Griffith Park's Wilson and Harding courses. I believe Harding is a George C. Thomas design and Wilson was done by someone else. Harding is a bit narrower and shorter, Wilson wider and longer. One of the funnier moments I've had on a gold course was on 18 at Harding. It is right next to the LA Zoo and the tram is right there and all of a sudden "On your right you will see the North American Golfer in its natural habitat"
