Best replacement for a 4 iron

Another vote for 7 wood. I play the Titleist 917 F2 with a heavier, low launching shaft, which still gives me tons of height but without ballooning. Works great from rough, too.

 

I tried the Titleist TS2 seven wood but prefer my old trusty.

The versatility of the Ping G410 hybrids with all its setting in loft and lie takes a lot of beating. I ditched a G410 4 iron and put a G410 4# hybrid in the bag with amazing results.
