Puerto Vallarta Golf Course Recommendation

I'll be in Puerto Vallarta Christmas week. Looking to play one round while there. Doesn't have to be one of the expensive resort courses but not a goat track either. Not taking my clubs so will need to rent.

Many years ago we played the Marina Vallarta Golf Club course with rented clubs and it was, as I recall, a bit of a "goat track". Hopefully it has improved since.

I was strongly considering that one since twighlight rate is "only" $ 105.

I think we were there in late Feb. so that might have had something to do with the dry, sparse conditions on the course but, if I were you, I would take a long look at the condition of the course before committing to play. I do remember that the course was quite empty when we played--I think we were the only golfers or nearly the only golfers.

Marina Vallarta was in OK shape when we were there in February 2018, Its not bad, but by no means a great course or condition.

If you take a taxi ride up to Vista Vallarta, those 2 courses are in really good shape and really fun to play. It will for sure cost you more money!

If you take a taxi ride up to Vista Vallarta, those 2 courses are in really good shape and really fun to play. It will for sure cost you more money!

Thanks. I've done some research and there are deals on some of the courses through Golfnow. I'll be sure to check on those two.

Bumping this old thread.

Currently in the PV area and the Pacifico Course (I take this to be the premier PV course) is just reopened from a lengthy renovation and is not worth the small fortune it takes to play. If there was one other course to play in PV/Punta Mita, which one would it be??
