Garmin Approach G80

ive done some testing inside and out.

 

inside with no fluro it was very accurate. against gc quad.

 

at home i have fluros and have found the unit to be less accurate has anyone else got fluros they can compare

Curious, does anyone use it for clubhead speed only without impact?  Thinking of picking something up for off-season speed training that may be more useful than a PRGR.

I've tried it with my orange whip & it doesn't work, the G80 operates using a radar function.

Sorry not at home, however, I did have my G80 operating when I was at an outdoor Ping fitting when they had Trackman. For comparison, my G80 numbers were quite close to theirs.

Perhaps yours is not on Version 3.30 or newer?

Just to pick up on this thread - I'd kind of forgotten about the G80 for LM purposes.

 

I've been using the R10 and the Yupiteru (same idea as the PRGR) successfully at the range, however I have limited ball flight in my home net. The Yupiteru does pick up clubhead speed only, but not entirely trusting it in my home setup, particularly for full shots.

 

The G80 although it's radar seems to not require any substantial ball flight, so I'm finding it a very neat and quick home option to work on swing speed and efficiency. Just updated the software to the latest version so hoping it might pick up partial wedges a bit better which is a slight struggle on software version 3.1
