What software to slow down and export video?

Is there any free software out there that will slow down a golf swing video file and export the slow motion version?

Just google "AVI editor" or "Video Editor" Tons of them.

 

Note that Windows Media player will allow you to frame advance, thus slowing down the video isn't necessary.

I edit my videos with Windows Moviemaker. I can slow them down or speed them up, whatever. You might be able to get that for free, I think it was just part of Windows XP on my computer.

 

Check out swingacademy.com . You can put your videos up on there and use the tools to draw lines, check angles, all sorts of stuff. I just started using it and it's awesome... not to mention free. I put some videos on there that I pulled off youtube. I got a really good one of Boo Weekely on Swingvision. I cut it, quadrupled the speed and put it up on there. Everyone should use that site, it's helped me out a lot already. My buddy and I put our videos up there and can pick them apart, compare them to the pros and get advice from other guys on a lot of things we miss.

I bought Replay converter. It is fantastic and also allows me to takeswings from any golf DVD load it onto my computer and then I use there Replay media catcher and cut and split the swings I want.

I borrow my friend's and I have a mini-dvd of my range session. As far as AVI or WMV - I am not sure, as I never really messed around with the camera, I just have the DVD. I thought with a DVD, I could do anything I want - but I am definately missing something, because, the Window's movie maker won't take the format the DVD is in. So maybe I need the program posted ^^^^ up there?

If the Mini-DVD creates VOB files, just copy those files to your hard drive and rename them to an .MPG file. Movie Maker should import them fine, as DVD videos are just mpeg4 compression.
