I like 5-man wolf as well. Banker also works well with fives. I play at a course where fives are common.

 

One game I've tried to get going is a form of left/right. In a 5ball, whoever is in the middle has to play defender against the two on the right and the two on the left. Most of my regulars are too confused about defender scoring to give it a go.

Perception is that 5somes do not belong on a golf course. Right or wrong. Most of us grew up with singles, twosomes, threesome's or foursomes. If the course is playing slow, the knee jerk reaction is to blame the 5some ahead of you. Right or wrong. You can rationalize the mathematics all you want, but perception tends to overule everything.
