I've gone through a lot of clubs this season, mostly for fun and testing but a few did make it in my bag during the course of the year. Here are my bags starting with the most recent season ending bag, followed by mid season and beginning of the season. No doubt this bag will change this off season. (^_^)

How come you dumped the Epon driver and Epon woods - only for the sake of extra forgiveness :man_in_love:

 

Tell me a bit about the C&L Inpakuto putter, why that and not a Gold's Factory Japan putter ?

I'm just in transition through clubs so I wouldn't say I dumped the Epon clubs.... I've owned 5 Epon drivers this year and 3 Epon FW's. I've got the new Epon high MOI driver on order already. They are still the best drivers I have ever hit. I just like trying things (14 drivers, 12 sets of irons, 20 putters this season alone).

 

The C&L I picked up because I know Chip Usher, and he told me about them a while back and I said I'd get one to try. Great putter. I do have a Gold's custom on the way too but it costs 4 times more than the C&L.

 

I still have my Scratch PW, it's just not in the bag at the moment as I'm already carrying three wedges so I thought I'd go back to the same PW as the irons I'm carrying. (^_^) That Scratch wedge is fully personalized so I will never let it go.

That was a very nice season ending review! Its cool to see how your gear changes over the course of a year, and it makes me feel much better about my little club collecting adventures, cheers!

 

Not to tempt you, but if you get a chance, I'd definitely give the Roddio I-6 or I-8 a try. I demod the I-8 in the OnOFF cavity (not the Plus or the 247) and it it is also a fantastic shaft. I'd need a bit more time with the I8 and a Tour AD in the same clubhead to give a good description of the difference in feel.

 

Back to your current set though, how do you like the G-Field driver compared the the Epon or the Yamaha?

The G-Field is not very long unfortunately... it's foamed so it has a very muted sound... it is quite straight so it's more of a temporary filler as I wait for my new Epon EMB driver.

Doesn't surprise me one bit that gocchin's bag is spot on. Those of us who spend time at TourSpec know he is extremely well versed in the J spec marketplace. Many is the US are completely unaware of the fantastic quality and craftmasnship of the highend Japanese equipment but cost is exceptionally high which translates into a niche US market. If you are looking for highend Japanese equipment TourSec is great reference.
