Headcover Repair/Flaking Question

Hey guys,

First time posting here as I tried to search the forum, but I was wondering if there's any DIY solutions to repair a flaking/peeling headcover?

I received the headcover for free from a friend and it's just flaking all over the place. Was wondering if there was something that would be able to keep it from flaking in the short term as I'm just trying to avoid going to Golf Galaxy for a headcover because I'll usually end up spending more from there. Haha. Thanks!

I took off all the material that flakes.

 

On a couple of Bettinardi covers it turned out great.

 

On a couole of OEM fw covers, not so good.

Sigh. Alright, thanks for the comments! Just seeing if there was some sort of spray to help coat it or something. Guess I'm off to Golf Galaxy...
