Callaway OPTI-Confusion

I can't keep up with the various callaway adapters.

Top: Callaway adapter on shaft i bought of ebay. No "W" marking. Is this a fake?

Middle: rogue sub zero driver with "W" marking

Bottom: epic flash sub zero 3 wood with "W" marking.

Does anyone have a translator for these? I was hoping they would be interchangable as the clubs arent that far apart in age. The top adapter has a clip on tip at the end that looks removable. My goal was to play the top shaft in the bottom adapter. Clearly they are way different. How does the tip length affect tip trimming? Can I tip trim a shaft more if its going in the bottom adapter vs the top?

Those are all different adapters for different clubs and to my knowledge are not interchangeable - not to say you can't mash them into place though.

The top adapter looks like an older adapter. Latest gen Callaway drivers (Epic, Rogue, Epic Flash) all use Optifit 2 adapters which is the middle one in your pic. The Epic Flash fairways use a newer, smaller Optifit 3 adapter which is the bottom one in your pic.

Also keep in mind the ones sold on eBay usually aren't from the OEM, they are instead 'OEM quality' meaning some factory in China just rips them off, so you'll notice the text looking different. Functionally I've found they all work fine though.

Top two are interchangeable, the original one (top) has the plastic piece that seats into the head, they replaced that with the metal in the middle. The reason the top didn't have a W was that the Hybrids were not adjustable at that time so you didn't need to denote wood versus hybrid like you do now. The bottom will only work with the 2019 Epic Flash fairways as the made a change to the depth of the head, the top 2 would work on the original Epic and Big Bertha fairways.
