Waterproof vest?

I hate wearing even short sleeved rain jackets. Are there any waterproof vests out there that can be recommended?

Thanks for bringing this up, Chief275. I guess I should not have written, "Ping Zero Gravity Tour Vest would have met your needs", in my earlier comment as it would really depend on what tb2 is looking for.
The Ping Impact vests and jackets are "water resistant", but not "waterproof". The Impact vests/jackets are in Ping's SensorWarm line, whereas last year's Zero Gravity Zero Gravity vests/jackets were in Ping's SensorDry line.
The Zero Gravity vests/jackets will do a great job at keeping out rain, but they provide no warmth whatsoever as they have no insulation layer. The Impact vests/jackets, on the other hand, are insulated (albeit very thinly) and do provide some warmth.
In my experience, Ping apparel that utilize SensorWarm technology and are advertised as "water resistant" have performed sufficiently in light rain. Their water resistance property comes from a DWR coating applied to the face fabric. But a DWR coating eventually fails under sustained rain. In contrast, the "waterproof-ness" of Ping's SensorDry tech comes from a 2.5 layer Pertex fabric membrane.
The Zero Gravity apparel is actually quite suitable for rain in warm/humid climate as it breathes very well and does not trap heat. But for rain in colder temps, a mid-layer underneath would be needed for warmth.

I’d recommend Galvin Green for a fully waterproof vest. I have one and it’s great. I wish KJUS had a fully waterproof one.

Correct. I have a ZR goretex vest. My wife has a ZR goretex jacket that can be converted to a short sleeve or a vest. Very flexible. When playing in milder weather I favor the short sleeve as I stay mostly dry but I'm still free to swing.

Gemini by Kjus is great. Not cheap but breathes really well. Super stretchy. Great piece all around.
