No, it won't be with the serial number. It'll be somewhere on the lower part of the shaft like this:

But, the shaft bands will also be telling due to color. JZ shaft bands are usually red and black while the KT bands are orangey/gold and black (or orangey/gold, black, and green if KT-M).

You sound like a bike collector...they always talk about thinning their herd and use words like minty..they never ride their bikes shame on them...i put 14 000 km on my 9 former Professional race team bikes last year (perfect 1970s/80's colnagos, pimarellos, frejuses, guerciotti, Bianchi Specialsima, peugeot px 10. Sold 40 or so of them so only have the 10 now.

Here is some of my collection.  Collecting is a hobby of mine but I also do like to play vintage from time to time.   I have 1950’s MacGregors then clubs from the 1970’s and 1980’s mostly.  Also collect bags.  Like ping L8’s and staff bags.  Have 30 ish bags and around 600 clubs.  Don’t play much these days but still like to oogle over what I have.  I do very little buying now unless something great falls into my lap.  As for pings I kept my set of eye 2’s  I got as a 16 year old and some becu’s and beni as they don’t make these any more.  I’ve owned ~150 sets of pings over time so this is definitely pairing down!
