Just getting back into the game properly after a 13 year absence. I wish this site existed when I was a junior as it has everything I geeked out with as a junior, so I have plenty to catch up on!

I've recently joined my old home course again which is Cruden Bay (20 minute drive from Trump International). I'll be looking at trying to regain my handicap once COVID passes here, which was at one point 5, I still play to around 7/8 when playing.

Next up is trying to resist upgrading my 20 year old Ping i3 Blades, I've had since new! Oh and since when has a 5 piece ball been a thing?! That blew my mind.

Welcome to the forum, I'm David and I'm from Nottingham. 13 years is such a long time not to be playing especially with so many great courses up there. I know the feeling but don't worry everyone here are very cool and welcoming to the forum also very knowledgeable. Golf has seen some real changed technology is one huge thing.

I've been following the Covid pandemic via the news and felt sorry for you guys especially the golfers and greenkeepers and for the love of golf cant figure out why Golf courses couldn't remain open. My course was the last in England to reopen so I know how you feel :)

Has for your clubs, golf can be very expensive I too have old Irons 'Howson Derby'. The five piece ball has been around since the Taylormade Penta ball, However they are very good and same tier has the Pro V1 and Bridgestone Tour B-XS.

I started playing golf again around 2010 after a 15 year absence. Mind-blowing. I remember the look on the bloke's face in the shop when I asked where the balata balls were...
