Balance and String

What drills are recommended for people to strengthen their legs for improved balance throughout the swing? Aside from lifting weight, any drills that can be done indoors at home? Plyometrics comes to mind, but I'm wondering if there are some basic, golf focused exercises that are well known.

 

Also, have heard about people setting up string on the putting green to align putts and do drills. Where do you buy this string? I'm sure anything would work but is there a specific kind that you can roll up and keep in your bag and will last a while?

only thing ive heard of is people getting two pole like objects that arent too large, tying a piece of regular string to them and placing one behind the ball and one behind the hole as a drill, is that what you mean?

yes, that's what I mean.

yup i think pretty much everything would work

and for balance plyometrics would work but make sure you have a solid base or you will get hurt easy, some drills ive come across are putting a club behind your shoulders and rotating like a golf swing while on a bosu ball, Putting while standing on a pool noodle cut in half, and standing on one leg with your eyes closed and counting by 3s.
