Hi guys, 

 

Here is my latest swing.  I am really trying to lift my left arm to what seems like over my head on my backswing to fix my flat inside takeaway.  It is still not very high but it is way less flat with this feel.  Should I feel like I am delaying my hips so my arms can get in front of my chest or just fire them like I do?  Anything else you guys see that needs work?

Nice looking move.  It’s all about making adjustments to affect better ball flights and misses.

My miss right now is a hook or a push.  I also hit the ball extremely high.

what i see.    takeaway is not the issue with flat - after p2 is when you pull the right elbow behind you instead of letting it rotate external as it bends.     Going external will also get the right arm to come up more and off your side.      That's why (getting elbow behind ) you see a lot of bicep of right arm at the top.

Your right arm trails the pivot a bit in downswing so your release is a bit of a late stall/flip - note how your arms straighten out toward the target versus continue left with pivot (note the difference in the release in the video I posted - his arms go left with his pivot).

 

I would think getting the hands higher and being able to shallow if you still do the good transition (no reason to think you wouldn't) would gain you some speed but more importantly it would not get your right elbow as far behind you so you would reduce the hook/block severity and get rid of the flip that is probably causing the high ball flight too.
