Faster I swing the less i can work my wrist angles

Hi,

 

Does anyone have any issue with getting the wrists and right arm to fold in the backswing when trying to increase swing speed?

Seems when I try and swing quicker I lose this, pull the arms inside and struggle retaining body tilts.

 

Battled this since trying to get speed gains.

The faster (which is often harder for ams not actually faster) you swing, the more frailties will be exposed. That goes for golfers of all levels - even pros.

I've noticed while working on speed that I can't cheat and try to get handsy to compensate, I'm sure the same would follow for whichever area a person is struggling with. TigerInTheWoods nailed it.

P1 to P3 is my weak area so highlighting this more with trying to swing like a nut job.

 

This swing move looks good on my swingcaddie figures but no way course suitable. Ball will be all over the place.

I disagree that swinging faster reveals flaws, if the faster swinging is done properly, in which case it tends to eliminate the many manipulations stemming from swinging with the arms.

 

Most ams have some degree of early extension and pull on the club etc. These problems definitely worsen when trying to go at it harder. 

 

I can see what OP is saying though. I'm trying to incorporate more UD and flexion in my lead wrist in transition and into the ball and at 115-120 with driver this is very difficult to maintain.

it helps to start with a quick burst of energy right off the ball to get things in motion. It's a feeling of coasting to the top at a pretty brisk pace. 
 

At the top you, the club shaft and face will be perfectly on plane and aimed at ball. In the downswing'; everything that was shifted, reshifts, everything that was turned, unturns, everything that was folded, unfolds, and everything that was wound, unwinds.

 

Unnecessary movements create unnecessary compensations that rob the club head of energy.
