The Dirt Cheap Simulator Build For My Junior

So thought I would share my budget friendly simulator build for my 11 year old son here. I am a teacher married to a teacher and simply could not afford dropping a massive amount of money on a sim build Our space was limited but not constraining in our garage so after a lot of research this is the semi finished product. We are going to clean some things up and wrap the entire cage in black mesh to make it look a little cleaner.

Materials

SkyTrak Used purchased for $1200

GaGalileo 7.7' x 7.7' x 4' Hitting bay $250

Durapro 5'x5' Multi surface mat $85 (Originally on sale for $130 on amazon and used some iBotta bucks)

Supplies that I used to reinforce the GaGalileo Net all purchased from Harbor Freight

Black Mesh Tarp wrapped around back of cage $20

Moving blankets for under cage $10

Painter's Canvas grommetted and hung as project screen $10

WellPutt 10' Mat $85 used

Projector (RCA Wally World) $50

Total in set up: $1710

We will be purchasing the $200 improvement plan so our total cost will end up being under $2000. The pictures make it look far more cramped than it is. He can swing all clubs, including driver comfortably. The canvas can give and has no issues so far and the picture is honestly pretty dang good. His ball speeds are in the 120s off driver for reference. Is our set up perfect? Heck no. Does it work. Heck yes. I also apologize for the poor lighting. Either way, you can build a bay without spending an absolutely fortune!

It isn't perfect but I also don't claim it to be. It does the job and that is what matters. He can hit whenever now and it is definitely helping him not lose his swing while we are in a light part of the year. Honestly it has all turned out better than I thought it would.
