Is it the wrong time of year to buy a new golf watch?

I'm in the market for a mid-level golf watch from Garmin, and I see a few deals out there like the S42 at Wal Mart for $255. 

 

Then again, winter is settling in here and I'm probably looking at one round a month tops until spring. I may just struggle along with my Shot Scope V3 til then if there will be better deals or updated tech to be had in the spring. 

 

Would appreciate any intelligence on how these things price throughout the year and whether or not new versions are likely over the next 120 days.

These days it is unpredictable when you can find the best deals.  The best approach may be to have a target price and buy if someone meets it.

This is the benefit of allowing companies to track you and your purchases.  I'm sure I've gotten great deals that I wouldn't have gotten if I were more serious about keeping my privacy.

 

Buying it now would give you  more time to get used to using it.

I’ve found January and February good times to buy if actually shopping on site. It’s after Christmas and the dead of winter (in my area) so stores or courses like to get some cash flow. The earlier the better for decent selection.
