History on the Ping ZB?

Hey all - 

 

I have had many putters over the years, but I always come back to my trusty Redwood ZB. This got me thinking. What is the history on this head shape? Where did the name ZB come from? I have the extensive Ping history from Lumpy, but nothing about ZB in there. Any knowledge left here will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I am a life long Ping putter person and my favorites are the Zing, Zing2 and MyDay (Zing+Anser hosel).  I believe the ZB was an evolution of the Zing chassis.  Just my take.

No idea of the name origins, but the head shape is reminiscent of the Tad Moore putters like the TM-1 and TM-2 (or later Pro-1P), or the various TP Mills putters from Spalding, or Mizuno TPM-1.

TP Mills was my thought.

Nothing in the lumpy guide because it’s not vintage. it’s a newer putter for the late 2000s. Very little in the ping book “and the putter went ping”.  This is it.

Wild guess... but maybe Zing Blade? One of the best looking Pings out there for sure.
