MacGregor Shaft Flex Query

Hello, I'm after a bit of help please, a friend has asked me about the shaft flex on a set of MacGregor M75 Colokrom irons, they have MacGregor True Temper Tourney shafts with a 'V' in a diamond symbol on the shaft band, does anybody have any idea as to what flex that might indicate?  

They have the following serial number 2F3694V if that helps.

According to Kaplan, these are medium stiff or #2 flex. M85 were #1 stiff, M75 #2 medium stiff, M65 #3 med/soft and M55 #4 soft.

I cannot fully decipher the code but suspect the 2 refers to shaft flex and the F refers to the grip - I believe moulded rubber. 9 in the code sometimes refers to 39" 2 iron compared to standard 38.5" but not sure if that is the case in your friends set? V possibly referring to the shaft type as they came with either Propel or TT v shafts.

Bit of making the facts fit the case here - experts here will correct me -but quite certain on the #2 flex of the shafts.

Foozle. Nice job. I believe you are correct on all accounts from Kaplan's Book.

I have had sets of M85 & M75's Colokrom's and the M85's had a stiffer feel, but not too much stiffer than the "V" M75's.

I have been trying to get my hands on a set of M85's for ages. I seem to be jinxed!

The first set I bought turned out to be M65's - both the seller and I misread the stamp! They are in great original condition so I am keeping them for my fairly imminent old age!

I then found another set but the box arrived damaged with only 4 of the 8 irons still inside - so I only have the 2,3,4&5!

I do have a set of the 1980's reissues but just not the same as the real thing!
