Excited to be a winner, big thanks to WRX and Cleveland for this opportunity.

I'm very eager to share my thoughts on the driver - as soon as it arrives I plan on putting it up against my gamer Mavrik Max and seeing how it stacks up. I'm already a huge fan of the HyWood in my bag and I'm hopeful this gives me a solid one-two punch in the woods/hybrids category.

First chance to play the club last night in my league (only 9 holes). I am a senior golfer and avg drive is 200-220 (with roll out).

Out of the box - looks good. I like the matte finish on the crown and the alignment aid. Shaft graphics are not busy and the usual feel of a velvet-type grip. For a lighter driver, the swing weight feels the same as my other driver, counter weighting doing its job. I am a lefty, so 10.5° loft is only option. Shaft is regular flex as I still have enough swing speed.

Range/warm up - felt good, I can sense the club head in the back swing. Hitting some low shots at first, I think it was just a combination of new club and maybe adjusting tee height. I tried the XL and XL Lite on a range a month ago at a Carl's Golfland and it took some time to adjust, so I will rack this up to adjusting to a new club. Later in the warm up hitting some nice fades with height. I was hitting some straight pushes, which is my miss, so I know it is the Indian, not the arrow.

On course - the nine we are playing is a bit tight, so only 3-4 holes you would have definite driver opportunity. First hole a push, my fault, clipped a branch to lose distance, but launched well and just in left rough. Next opportunity was a push, nice launch with distance. Next opportunity was a nice fade up right side with good distance (for me). Last hole was another push, good distance though.

Overall - definitely has potential to knock my Ping G400Max out of the back once I dial it in and gain confidence in it. I think I need to move to a little bit stronger top hand. I was hitting some bombs when I tried the club a month ago. Looks good, nice feel. If you are a senior and looking for a club which doesn't "feel" heavy, a club to try. Plan on getting to range after work, play 18 this weekend and next week's league is on a more open nine for more driver opportunities. Will post again later next week. Head cover is a bit tight, the club head is big, expect it will loosen/stretch over time.

Many thanks to GolfWRX and Cleveland Golf for the opportunity to win the driver. Even if I had not won it, planned on picking up a pre-owned. My back is slowly going all Cleveland.

I've been putting my ongoing thoughts in the "official" driver review thread, so I'll just say that after an adjustment period I'm really liking the driver so far. I do wish, in hindsight, that I had opted for the accuracy build but that's not taking away from the results I'm seeing now that I've worked out optimal tee height and position for this particular driver.

Able to go to range Wednesday night. Teeing the ball a little higher and widening my stance seems the trick. Hitting some bombs (for me at least) and better dispersion. Still fighting a push, but had that with old driver too. Found if I tee it low, seeing low line drives that just run and run. Saturday 18 will be the next test, on the course!

Played Saturday evening golf. Yes, hitting driver better than earlier this year. Still hitting a push, but when it flies the distance you want, it takes pressure off the 2nd shot and better/easier opportunities on approach shots. The adventure begins.

Played a couple of times last week. Getting used to the driver. Seeing consistent distances and when hitting middle of the face I'm in spots in the fairway I haven't been all year (meaning longer). And my miss to the left (fade for lefties) is also long. Tried teeing lower and producing some lower trajectory bullets with lots of roll. I am liking this club more each time I use it.

Tweaked the indian (since you can't tweak the XL light) and finding distance and consistency. I couldn't fade my old driver, but now the flight shape is a nice fade. So, as a lefty, I aim right and let it drift back into the middle. If I start more left than intended, it will still find the left side or left rough at worse. See maybe 10-20 yds more (from both flight and roll out. Since old driver was also 10.5°, lighter weight and longer length, is benefiting. I am choking down about an inch too. Played Saturday night and 18 yesterday. This club performed as expected, it is a keeper.
