Boone NC Tracks

Heading to Boone for a wedding will be there long enough to get a round in.  Looking for recommendations.

Not sure how far you wanna travel from Boone but my #1 recommendation is Mountain Glen.  AVOID BOONE GOLF CLUB.  Its a fantastic course don't get me wrong but it's going to be a 5 and a half hour round.  They double tee and also pack tee times. If you can get to Mountain Glen do it.

I have played Boone Golf Club half a dozen times. I have never had a 4.5 hour + round.

Played it twice this year once as the first group off. Still a 5 hour round.  Had a friend play it last weekend. Teed off at 1:40 and wasn't done until 7.  To each his own but I've had more round of 5 hours plus than 4.5

I played it last fall on a weekday I think, it was about 5 hours with an 11 am tee time but place was packed , what can you do. Played Mountain Aire also, couple neat holes but mostly just that monster drop off one thats nearly impossible to not go left, otherwise, meh conditions.  That Linville Land Harbor course looked quirky fun but I didn't play it.

Mountain Glenn is a little hidden gem. Usually in very good shape and has some great par 3's. Very fun to play. Reasonable cost.
