Tour Jason Dufner with new Cobra King CB irons - 2022 Shriners Children's Open

Where are all the Cobra guys in here who have some information about these and the new King Tours? Expected release dates, tech stories, specs, etc etc.

 

It would be awesome to see how the two sets could blend, or if they are pretty much the same clubs in slightly different appearance packages? 

 

I think I heard something about Jan/Feb for the new Aerojet driver, perhaps this follows suit? Hope so.

I loved cobra CBs when they were under the same umbrella with Titleist

Jason Dufner and Cobra is not a good mix as I'm not sure how he can even afford to golf professionally as I can't remember when he made his last cut

Not sure it matters if these irons are Jason Dufner's or John Doe's. The point of the post is to show the new Cobra irons which are hopefully set to be released in the new year. I think they look absolutely awesome and could care less who uses them on tour. 

 

I have never owned a set of Cobra irons in the past, but this coming season I am super curious to see what these CB's and Tour's look like. Would love to hear the tech story etc. 

 

The point about Dufner is absolutely irrelevant.

Set up with the cb and the Tour today…perfection. Blade length considerably shorter on the tour from previous irons like king tour and mim tour. And the cb is just perfect looking. Nice square shape. If these had titleist or taylormade stamped on them, would be silly how many bags these made their way in

My local golf shop just got the demo heads in and I hit them today. They really really impressed me a lot. Everything about them I liked. The sole is a little wide but it’s kind of cambered like the Wilson staff cb sole. They look like a one piece forging, I think they are. They are long, straight, pretty, and soft. I’m giving them a chance in 2023

Long, straight, pretty and soft are definitely all of the words people will love to hear when mentioning a new iron. Super excited about this release.  

 

Did you hit the Tours as well, or just the CB's? 

 

How would you compare the blade length to other irons you have tried in the past? You mentioned the Wilson CB, and to me they seemed to have a relatively large hitting area, but more because they were taller top to bottom as opposed to long in blade length (they actually seemed pretty short in overall blade length to me).

Have always hated Cobra clubs but gotta admit, these look very nice. Wouldn't mind giving them a test. Would also be nice to see Duf get his game back.

At address they look similar to the zx7, but the cobra cb looks smaller with thinner topline to me. From top to bottom they looked shorter than the Wilson.  The cobra cb are larger to me than the t100 too

Overall, sitting between the ZX7 and the T100 in terms of size, combined with long, straight and soft seems like a pretty winning formula. I'm sold. Haha. Thanks!

My impression setting up with them was the Tour is between size of t100 and zx7 while cb was no bigger than t100…mayyyyybe a smidge smaller but awesome shape. Not as rounded as precious king mb/cb head shapes. Squarer shape

I cannot wait to see and test both the CBs and the Tours, the Cobra King Forged CBs were very compact and the current T100s and Staff CBs look equally compact although I haven't compared them side by side, so hopefully the CBs are a similar size and the Tours are still smaller than the ZX7s.
