Wanna Date Me? Original Ping SS Anse!

Hey gentleman!

 

Gotcha with the title...

 

I was hoping some of you seasoned Veterans out there could give me a date on this putter I'm listing images of.

 

I've seen my share of stainless steel mostly titanium and a good bit of copper bronze and brass...

Mainly on higher end folding knives like Chris Reeve titanium frame lock folding knives, and some expensive copper bronze and brass and stainless steel bolt action pens.

 

I say the stainless steel on this anser could go either way.....

 

It could be a well cared many decades old, or it could be a reproduction from the 90s or 2000s

 

The highlights and lowlights in the pictures don't show the where on the sole and the cavity pitting on the shaft as much as it actually appears in person...

Also why would the lettering have black paint fill on some and white on the others I have another stainless steel which is very similar but has white paint fill instead of black .

Recently purchased from 2nd Swing just hoping someone could put a rough date on them the Ping answer holds a special place in my heart as the bronze manganese model was the only putter I've known my father to use in his 71-year-old life.

 

I remember being so intrigued by the sound of that putter and the Nostalgia from when I was 5 years old at the beach wanting to put with it but it was much taller than I at 35 in.

 

I remember a few years later it was still giant but I could use it like a long putter with my hands separated and colored Ping golf balls on our Beach vacation which my mom also hid for me to find like Easter eggs in the sand.

 

That putter has so much patina on it it's dark bronze patina and gorgeous so you can still tell it's a bronze model with the sound slot in the bottom it will never go anywhere.

 

This is just a recent stainless steel purchase.. it has clearly been -

We do know Tiger Woods GSS Scotty Cameron Newport 2 is modeled off his favorite ping stainless steel Anser 2  he fell in love with during his Junior golfing days and College which actually reemerged for a few tournaments with Mark Omera's backup Ping stainless steel Anser 2...

 

Finally, to talk about the most famous club in the history of golf which will easily sell for 20 to 50 million plus one dday. THE Tiger Woods Newport to GSS named "The Elder Eand" I really like that putter, don't we all?

 

 From late April early May 1999 created by Mr Cameron .

 

    We also know the story of why the Cherry Bomb started because the putter came in overweight at D4 when it was supposed to be a D2

 

I like that, but Tigers putter is Tiger's putter only. I want my own just some of the same features Tiger has I happen to like.

 

I want a smooth face Scotty Cameron with no Milling and the dot as the sight line like Tiger has.

 

Not to be like Tiger but because those are two of my favorite preferences regarding the smooth face just like the Ping answer bronze manganese i love and the anser stainless steel picture above.

 

I also very much like a lighter weight anser head. Quite lightweight as in the 310 to 325 range

 

I also do not like the sight line and would prefer a DOT to put the ball right behind The Sweet Spot.

 

Unlike tiger, I prefer the Newport over the Newport too AKA The Ping Anser over the Anser too

 

 Finally my question.... are there any Cameron models with a smooth face not milled.

 

Do you think the dots and or the smooth face is something he would do in the custom shop

 

What is the most similar head setup to tigers that Scotty Cameron makes off the rack produced in the past.

 

Of course nothing is going to be exactly like tigers so you're just wasting your breath... I know I know I know, I know!

That's not the question by any means!

 

the question is is there anything similar with a smooth face....

 

Do you think you could have something built in the custom shop to resemble the specs I listed above.

 

Again because someone will come on here and say blah blah you can't have Tiger's putter it's only for him and waste their breath it is of note that I'm much prefer the Newport over the Newport to there's a huge difference right there.

I'm just looking for the smooth face and the single dot sight line as well as a much lighter Club head weight
