The way I read it, the 150 fee is a one time program charge. The second set is no-charge as you all ready paid the fee. I like the idea, good job Callaway.

Yes, the $150 covers the overnight shipping and getting bumped in front of the 1000 other orders that are being processed.

Thats my take on it. Not for everyone but like the Tour Authentics Program it will fill a niche. I have guys several times a year get fit and then tell me they are leaving on for vacation it two days "Will I have the club by then" Now they can.

I won't be playing Callaway in the foreseeable future, but this is a great service I would likely use. I'm one of those who will pay a premium to get something in my hands the next day.

Not bad considering fed ex next day for non business is about $80-$123 for a set of irons.

 

Take a look at these fed ex rates for 2 shipment based on a set of irons from Callaway's headquarters' in Carlsbad, CA to:

 

1. Los Angeles, CA (Very Close)

 

 

 

2. Boston, Massachusetts (Very Far)

 

 

 

Based solely on shipping rates. (What you would pay just for shipping overnight from Callaway).

 

 

This is a great deal for someone wanting to get their set tomorrow in Boston (Paying about $25-$50 extra) as opposed to someone in Los Angeles (Paying $85-$120 extra for the service).

 

 

So if I lived in Boston I would do this if time was of the essence it would cost me the same to buy a club offline and get next day as to get my club custom built to my specs and get it next day.

 

 

Its all relative.

 

But it all boils down to money..... like my dad said. "if you have to ask how much it is, you can't afford it!"

I don't hate my money enough to want a driver the next day. I guess if that is your thing, then it is a fantastic service. Callaway customer service is second to none in my book, and they have been for some time.

this would be the greatest thing since night baseball was invented had i not tried the japanese club market. callaway is far inferior to the japanese irons out there. i think they are light years ahead of us in the USA in shafts and irons and balls yes balls. i pay a hefty premium to play their golf balls and shear them with my wedges everytime out. they are close to the perfect ball, you know the one that goes forever and stops on a dime. they are very very close

Ping can do this as well. customer pays for expedited shipping, no more than whatever the custom order costs in the first place. can we toot Callaway's horn any more?
