Mild winter and the courses are scheduled to open sooner in 2023

Just noticed that some courses are scheduled to open in the next few weeks, weather depending, which is far earlier that in past years.  This winter has been really mild with little to no snow, although it did snow last night, so I've been able to play at those few courses that remain open during the winter. But now the remaining courses are indicating they'll be open starting next weekend.  Even if that gets delayed a week or so it's still much earlier than other years and great to be able to play a few nicer courses.

Here's hoping!   I got a couple nine hole rounds in last month at Unicorn GC in Stoneham.  Most of the course was playing pretty nice and I was in short sleeves for one of the rounds!

 

Once it warms up it would be cool to get a GolfWRX group out for a few rounds if anyone was interested

Yeah, saw an email from Wentworth Hills that they are opening for the season this Friday. Looking at the forecast for this week, I think they may need to change those plans. 🤣

 

But hopefully it's only a week or two delayed.

Got the same email. Hoping to get out on WH as I typically only play Heather Hill during the colder months and that can be disappointing.  Can't wait to get out on lush fairways and greens again. Looking out the window at snow but hoping that spring starts soon.

What are of the best courses that are open as normal? Waiting for some of my go-tos to open like Tashua knolls etc.

I've played almost every weekend since Nov. down here in tropical southern new england. Not many closed. Out of 16 weekends so far since 1st weekend in Nov, only 3 no plays due to weather.
