Putter length vs. lob wedge

As a general rule how long should your putter vs. LW? I realize everyone is different, and getting fit is an answer. I seem most comfortable with the same length or 1/4” shorter.

Not certain there is a rule.  Here are my measurements:  putter is 33.5 and my wedge is 35.25.  So 2.25.  I grip the putter at 33, and like the grip overhang.  I grip all my full swing clubs at the cap.  I measure everything to the cut, and do not take the grip end cap into consideration.

Length of clubs is personal.  My SC Monterey putter 360g hd-weight D5 SW and 34".  My LW, SW and set Wedge all 36".  I like the heavier feel and SW.  To that point, arbitrarily setting lengths without knowing the effect it has on the club's specs/feel could have unexpected results.

Both my putter and 58 are 36”. Not by design but what worked.
