Why not? Good ball position is fundamental. It takes no time or effort to address the ball so that it's @ 6" back and 6" closer to you from where it is now. And with your own mat and camera set-up there, you can mark the old and new ball positions and document the changes.

It's building on videos I've posted the last 6 or so weeks on getting to my lead side earlier in the backswing. That move was targeted to significantly reduce lateral movement in the downswing. I can see progress there, and my ballstriking has shown it. 

 

I have progressed to trying to get onto my trail side a touch more in the backswing since incorporating earlier lead side shift....putting it all together.

 

I fight lazy setup issues. I reach for the ball at times - sometimes a TON more than what you see. I have a drill I use to help with that. I'm not saying anyone is wrong about setup. What I am saying is that it's not my focus for this thread. It's an element I try to keep in check but not what I was focused on when I made these videos. 

 

Changes are hard to ingrain. The reduction or elimination of too much lateral movement is a BIG change. I keep.my eye on other keys that I know cause issues. I know this change will likely lead to additional stuff that will need to be addressed. Time will come for that. 

 

Incremental, not wholesale. 

 

We are just trying to help man. Why argue or dismiss every piece of advice?

 

Multiple people have all said the same thing:

 

Your setup NEEDS to change or you will not be able to resolve the issues you are dealing with. They are the same issue.

 

1. Stand 6in closer to the ball

2. narrow your stance by at least 6in

3. Stand taller and more balanced

4. Profit by having a significantly easier time rotating without sliding nearly as much

Variable control. See how th3 change I'm focused on right now influences other areas. 

 

I've tried to change ball position. It's not easy. It screws up other feelings. If my low point control is not an issue and my path and ftp are solid then it's a variable that doesn't need to be changed until another change influences it or I just focus on it.

Because I didn't ask for "what's wrong". This thread was just to show a specific change I have been working on. 

 

Taller at address - yes. It's a key I look.at but was not a key during those videos.

 

The other items...not now.

The setup changes you need to make will probably cure or help tremendously with your 'sliding' issues. You're taking a driver stance with a short iron. If you narrowed it up and moved it back you'd be able to make those pressure changes worthwhile. If you're giving these changes months to kick in, why not give the setup the same amount of time?

People view those changes as not important for some reason.

Played 14 holes today. 4 holes are closed on Disney magnolia as they redo the final 4 holes. Missed 3 greens and 3 fairways. Shot even with two 3putts as I swapped out 2 different putters while trying a new one. 

 

The moves I'm working on are definitely the right path. 

Flagged it on 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, and 11. 

 

Locking this one up. Will post more progress videos soon so you guys can tell me how my stance is too wide and my ball position is terrible.
