1/2 shaft offset vs 3/4 shaft offset

I had my first putter fitting ever last night and was told that I should get a 1/2 shaft offset neck. I have searched and searced and haven't found one. I'm guessing I'll have to get a 3/4. Currently I am using a full shaft offset, I'm guessing that 3/4 will give me better results than 2hat I'm currently getting with the full offset. The reasoning for the 1/2 offset is that I tend to hit the ball on the bottom of the face, so I figured I could put the ball back in my stance a smidge hoping for a better strike. Any opinions?

I know just looking recently the Bettinardi Inovai 8 and 6 have half shaft offsets on the spud necks. I found the full specs on PGA tour Superstore. Any other ones, would have to do some digging. Any reason the fitter specified 1/2 shaft? Personally just not sure what kind of effect it has, just assumed it was related to toe hang too.

I was consistently hitting the ball with the bottom of the putter face and he said I should get a 1/2 offset so the ball would make contact higher on the face.

Where is the ball in your setup?

From my midline, I'd say 2 or 3 inches towards my lead side.

Just at home try setting it up like dead middle or 1 ball forward at most. 

 

If you have impact tape or a spray powder spray it on the face and just see where impact is.

I’m the same as you. If you want a plumbers neck, get a TP Mills handmade plumbers neck. Most of his PNs are 1/2-3/4 and set up differently than the plumbers necks in the stores. The Mizuno M Craft Type II also sets up similar to the TP Mills if you want something cheaper.

I also had the same prescription as you, but for a left miss.  Half shaft innovai 6 currently being tested.   It’s great on the fitting carpet.  Hasn’t translated to course yet.   Saw a BB1F that looks half this afternoon.
