Putter shafts

All in is more muted than the BGT shaft.   I prefer the feel of the LAGP/All In versus the BGT just personal preference.

The all in is worth the 100 dollar experiment all day long price wise as well

What do you not like about the stock shaft in the 5.5? Scotty tends to use some very rigid shafts in those so not sure what you would be after trying to swap it. Not like the old Ping stepped shafts where you can feel quite a bit of flex in them. Just curious.

Maybe I’ll have to go to a shop and roll my 5.5 next to a Cleveland that has all in for stock.  Might not be close comparison but maybe give me a feel of it.

Maybe try out a lineup that offers both to see if you really notice a difference in the steel vs stability type shaft. Some of the odyssey stuff comes in both versions as well as the Cleveland frontline stuff. It won't be your putter but at least can help determine if that tech is worth the extra $. For me, the feel was slightly different, but maybe not enough to justify the price. But I am old school when it comes to putters so take that with a grain of salt.

Great idea!  I know the odyssey shafts are not the same as BGT, all in, etc.  what I’ve been told by odyssey is that the stoke lab shafts are designed to remove weight from mid section to make counterbalanced.

Yeah the strokelab stuff is not quite the same, but would still help in narrowing down if you like the graphite over the steel. Personally I really like the new Cleveland frontline series. I think their tech is really underrated and cheaper than the competition. All their stuff comes in both versions as well. Just need to find a shop that offers both to try out.

The whippy shaft was one of the reasons I sold the 5.5.  It was torquing all over the place.  Was missing two footers with that putter.  Using a ct tour 120 right now and it’s way better.

I had a similar experience, although my issue was more-so distance control. Not sure if it was a stiffness issue or a weight issue, or both. But these newer era scotty shafts are too light IMO

The new cleveland putters actually offer the all in shaft and one without, they would be the putters to try, if you can find them.

Curious, can someone rank the following shafts from feel-wise most still to less stiff (subjective, I know) ?

-UST All In

-BGT Stability

-LAGP

-KBS GPS

-KBS CT Tour

-MMT

Below is a table from PXG showing stiffness. This doesn't really touch in feel...but measured stiffness.

How do you have a whippy putter shaft? You are going after the putt eh!

I was able to roll a couple of Cleveland’s and an odyssey.  I didn’t care for the all in as much as steel or the all in.  Maybe I’ll have to try and counter balance since I liked the stroke lab.
