Removable strap on Sun Mountain 4.5

I never carry my bag when I play, but I do use a push cart. I hated having the straps hang right in the way for the range finder, ball pocket, etc.. So, I thought I'd do a little DIY removable strap project. Might not look the best, but sure does work out well on the push cart (and the rare times I ride..). Anyone else do something like this?

I do it all the time if I’m pushcarting, my Nike bag has push buttons on the straps where you can take off /put on the strap in 15 seconds. I also pop it off if I’m riding. Leave it on for practice.

I'm looking to do the same with my Taylormade Flextech. Can you outline how you did it? i.e. where and what kind of clips are those? How/who did you get them sewed on? and anything else you think might be helpful for me to do the same 🙂

it looks like you have a ton of room to cut. I would think you can find some of the buckles like OP’s modification, then install them on your loose ends after cutting.

Yeah, I was struggling finding buckles (didn’t know what to call them in a search). I found these on Amazon that look sturdy, any rec on which to go with?

I bought the clips off Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LD8CJ8D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

I just estimated how close to the base i could cut the strap and have it fold back thru the clip - about 5" or so. I ended up punching a hole thru the strap and putting in a threaded rivet to hold it it place better and it looks better than the black electricians tape.

All in all it worked well 🙂
