Shanking

Played 9 yesterday and shot +1, then today at the range I'm shanking everything.

 

Taking lessons and working on getting more into right side on back swing, but next lesson isn't for 2 weeks.

 

What does everybody see? Seems steep IMO, just not sure what feels to get more depth in backswing.

You don’t get into your right side at all. It like your feet are stuck in cement.

 

You set the wrist let and as mentioned above fire the hips early and get the club behind you. 
 

You should be doing whatever drills your instructor gave you from your last lesson and work on those til your next one. Also check in with him/her to see if you are doing them correctly.

Agree with @GoGoErky You need to get more on your right side in the backswing. I wouldn't try to weight shift but instead focus on just getting those hands and your right hip deeper. That is why you are largely coming down steep and moving onto your toes in the downswing. That backswing actually isn't too bad, but if you struggle with swinging on plane and hitting shanks, then you need to work on getting deeper and having a flatter backswing. You actually do a pretty good job of correcting this in your downswing with that early extension, but early extension can make golf difficult to play consistently.

 

I would look at these two videos on getting deeper/wider in the backswing and swinging more on plane in the downswing.

 

P.S. Padraig is the goat. He's hitting 183mph ball speed at 50 years old!
