Been waiting for 15 weeks now for this putter from Bettinardi.

Inovai 6 spud neck 33" LH

Never had a chance to demo as lefty putters are hard to find, never mind this particular stick.

 

I need a very small amount of toe hang (this has 8-10* I believe) and grooves for a better end over end role (according to my fitter)

Been putting lights out with the QB6 since adding 2 swing weights of lead tape. It has the less toe hang but not the "role control face".

 

Would love to hear about your experiences. Role control, feel, sound, consistency... anything else you'd care to share.

One more thing. How is the aluminum body holding up?

Does it scratch easily? Loosing paint?....

Christ 15 weeks for an OTR putter? 

 

I'd be cancelling that order and going with someone else, I've gotten full customs in less time than that.

Is custom ordered to length, lie and loft.

You can probably get that from 2ndSwing shipped in a week.

I had one for a while during my putter ho phase. It was a really nice putter. The feel of the roll control face is incredibly soft imo. The softest milled putter I’ve ever rolled. My only dislike was the at the aluminum fangs are very thick. Not my favorite look and makes picking up a ball with them a little difficult but still do able. Minor complaint. I loved the alignment with the top line and the flange ball width lines. I think you’ll really like it.

Aluminum held up great. I believe it’s anodized so really durable.

I was at Golf Galaxy over the weekend auditioning putters (So the pro at my club could order). I have mostly used mallets and have always been partial to plumber necks. Brought my own balls and was there for 2 hours. Went through most of usual suspects ( except blades) I was narrowed down to  hitting Spyder GTs, Scotty Phantom 5.5,  Ping Tyne 4, and Odyssey Eleven ( didn't like the view of the 2ball).  Next to me was someone getting fitted. After he was done with his fitting the Sales Rep looked at me and asked if I needed anything while he was putting away putters from his completed fitting session. I asked if there was anything I haven't tried he thinks I should audition. He looked at what I had pulled out and went into the corner and grabbed the Inovai 6 with spud shaft. I was taken a back. hadn't even considered Bettinardi and that style didnt move me. 30 minutes later I was at the register.  Face never left the target line. Took a few swings to get used to feel and looks.

Now I am not a putting guru and couldn't tell you all the objective reasons one putter works over another. Objectively my arc isn't suited for a blade. Thats as much as I now.  I believe picking a putter is 80% subjective. It needs to look and feel correct to the user first. 

Things I liked: Build Quality, Grip not large but super tacky, Deep face, Spud shaft (it has less bend but seems to work with my arc and the face is always online to the hole, the soft face. Things that I did not love: the back fangs are very thick and take a bit get used to, two piece metal construction is different (I will adjust). Getting used to the spud shaft. I am typically a bit toe up, I find myself resetting at address to make sure the bottom is flat on the green. 

I couldn't have my pro order it since they don't have a contract with Bettinardi which means I paid full retail (first club purchase in 15 years I paid full boat). I went hit on the practice green and it matches what I felt on the matt at GG. Yes, this an expensive putter but it looks and feels like it.

Finally!

Received the Inovai 6 from Bettinardi in my specs.

Took 12 weeks. Yes, 4 months door to door... 😞

 

First experience putting at the store was...

 

- size is very nice for a mallet. Not too large as some seem to be.

- solid solid feel. The sweet spot is definitely larger than on my QB6. 

- MOI higher as hardly any twisting felt on mishits.

- Soft feel. Cant say its softer with the new roll control face than my QB6 as it was milled from soft carbon steel.

- roll seems very good. does the RC face make a difference as its designed for a better end over end roll? Hard to tell but if I had to bet I'd say yes it does. 

- did have some putts going right on me. Could be the lie angle or grip. Once I stopped forward pressing as I currently do, they were more online. 

- have a deal w the store that they will adjust lie and loft if need be once I play with it a bit.

New Inovai doesn't use the FIT Face it uses the RC Face which has better roll. The FIT Face seems to be "phase out" of OTR options and used in Hive and LE putters, more benefits from the RC Face over the FIT.
