Has anyone tried? Trying to get feedback and reviews? I did the online fitting for though their website. Should I get a different fitting (in person) before purchasing?

I have Mezz Max. The online fitting was fine and specs are correct. If you are interested in L.A.B you have to be prepared to adjust a few things about how you putt. Your set up (mainly ball position) will be different and you will need to "unlearn" how you have been putting as you need to let the putter do it's thing rather than forcing it. You may go through a bit of a slump after the initial honeymoon phase and for me that was because I got sloppy and my setup slowly reverted back to how it was with my old putter. Once you are aware of what your set up needs to be really make sure you set up that way.

I have had the putter for 3 ish months now and my putting is definitely better than it was with my old putter.

Thanks for writing this reminder. I have had my Mezz Max since the start of the season. There was an adjustment period, then I went on a stretch of making everything. But the last month or so has been nothing special.  No worse than a normal putter, but no better. I could have reverted back to my old ways.

How specifically do you "putt different"?

Some people can pick it up with no adjustments, others have a harder time. I know Lab advocates for the ball being more forward in your stance and very minimal grip pressure to let the club do the work, helping it stay square to the target. I’ve seen them recommend doing putts without thumbs on the grip to get the feeling.

Yeah set-up will change due to the forward press grip (ball further forward in stance) and the other major difference is you need to force the stroke less. Let the putter be a pendulum. It is hard to explain but once you start messing around with a LAB putter for a few hours you will feel the difference of when you force the stroke (like a normal putter) vs when you let the putter "swing itself" it is hard to explain.

I am curious about people’s thoughts on the Mezz VCA Mezz Max.  I prefer the look of the Mezz, but I would be making the change due to the technology and forgiveness.  I’m questioning why I wouldn’t pick the more forgiving of the two.

I had the same thoughts. Wound up going with the Max because I figured if I went with the standard Mezz I would always be second guessing myself wondering if my performance would be better if I had the slightly more forgiving head.

I haven't seen the Mezz in person but I do have the Max and size wise it is not huge. I think for a lot of people the bigger the head is the weirder they feel about it but I was surprised with the size of the Max. My thought process was why wouldn't I get the more forgiving one. Hence why I went with Max.

I have been using a MEZZ.1 that I bought off the rack at PGATSS. The improvement in my putting has been obvious. However, my home course has lightening fast greens (STIMP around 12 on average) and I didn't love the feel of the steel shaft after using BGT shafts for years in my old putters.

So I ordered a custom MEZZ.1 MAX with the accra shaft. Like others, I decided that more forgiveness had to be better. The putter finally arrived, and the shaft feels better (to me) and so far the MAX is at least as good as the regular MEZZ. I suspect it will end up more forgiving as it is significantly wider (though similar front to back).

BTW I did the online video fitting and the putter came out perfectly fitted. Even though the off the rack putter had similar specs, the small differences make the custom one feel perfectly fitted.
