Golf Club Set - 48" to 54"

Background: I have a 7-year-old who is 48” tall. He currently plays a US Kids UL-45” set. He’s only played a handful of rounds, and we’ll probably play 5 more this year. I plan to play 10-15 with him next year, and maybe 20+ the following year. He is athletic and plays other sports, so it’s difficult to commit any more time to golf. I would enter him into a tournament if he wants around 9 years old. His UL-45” is fine for the remainder of the year. However, I want to start looking for his next set. I would like that set to last him two years, then pass it on to his younger siblings. I don’t know his swing speed, but he does play baseball, so I think he could generate above average speed for his age. Long term, I would like him to enjoy playing golf, and also be well positioned to pursue it more seriously if he wants.

 

Question: I’m fairly set on getting him a US Kids golf set again. I have two questions:

1.      What length should I get him to last two years? Based on his height percentile, I expect him to be around 54” on his 9^th birthday. So the 51” US Kids seemed like it could cover a little past his 9^th birthday.

2.      What set would you get (rough price includes putter/bag): UL for $350, TS3 for $580, TS5 for $730? This would be used by multiple siblings for the next 5-6 years.

I wouldn’t expect any set to last two years. I would it him in the correct set now and move up when it’s appropriate. Getting clubs to long will be detrimental to his progress. Look on eBay and find a used set for half the price of new. 
I would probably think UL and that age and size. Then possibly TS3 for the next set

Yes Agree with current response.  I've seen a few kids whose clubs are way too long and have hurt them.  Unfortunately can't "grow" into long clubs like one can with shoes!!

I have similar aged son … we change a new set every 9 months or so.
